What they say:

‘Join bestselling authors Jennifer Crusie, Victoria Dahl and Shannon Stacey for three sexy stories about finding the one you love.

Sizzle by Jennifer Crusie: Business takes a backseat when successful ad executive Emily Tate meets Richard Parker. He’s an accountant who’s been sent to keep her in line and under budget in her ad campaign for a sensual new perfume called Sizzle. And if Emily’s not careful, she could well melt in Richard’s hands.

Too Fast to Fall by Victoria Dahl: For Jenny Stone, driving is her escape – from her past, her problems and her quiet life in Jackson Hole. But after Deputy Nate Hendricks stops her – again – for speeding, she could lose more than just her licence. She could lose her heart. Nate seems to think that Jenny should replace her love for fast driving with something even more…heart pumping. And despite her need for speed, Jenny’s never been one for defying the law.

Alone With You by Shannon Stacey: When waitress Darcy Vaughan’s friend asks her to help out with the launch of a fledgling restaurant, she’s happy to oblige. Little does she know the owner is Jake Holland, the perfect guy who slipped through her fingers after their one night of passion. But for Darcy and Jake, just one touch was just not enough.’

What we say – review by Charlotte Foreman:

Be Mine is a fantastic selection of short stories just raunchy enough to get you in the mood for a steamy Valentine’s Day.

Sizzle’s Emily Tate is the perfect M&B heroine: no-nonsense, savvy, razor-tongued and she doesn’t suffer fools gladly. Put under Richard’s ‘control,’ the sexual tension becomes almost palpable and you’ll read on eagerly for the outcome. Most readers will enjoy Emily and Jane’s relationship, possibly recognizing one of their own friendships through it, but the duo certainly adds a comical edge to this saucy story.

Too Fast to Fall was my favourite in this small compilation. The combination of Nate, his official-ness and his soft spot for Jenny had me before I could even read “Licence and registration please.” I gasped, laughed and swooned my way through this read, even blushing at the extremely erotic intimate scenes, which, in my mind, was just the cherry on the cake.

Alone With You started with a bang (quite literally!) and then proceeded to slow right down. This change of pace takes nothing away from the story, it only enhances the tension as Darcy and Jake’s situation reaches a tipping point, and you can’t wait to see which way they fall. The crux is thoroughly satisfying and you’ll be sad to read the last word in this collection.
