If I Stay by Gayle Forman—I devoured this book in one sitting. It’s a young adult novel with strong romantic elements. I’ve never had a book stay with me like this one did. It was a very powerful read.

Where She Went by Gayle Forman—This book continues the love story of Mia and Adam introduced in If I Stay. It’s told in Adam’s point of view. I debated reading the book because I couldn’t imagine a love story told solely by the hero but I was sucked in from the very beginning.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen—I know this is the most clichéd selection but I had to include it. I have read the book numerous times, despite the lack of white space, and have seen the movie like a hundred times.

Fancy Pants by Susan Elizabeth Phillips—I read this book shortly after I started writing and it inspired me to write romantic comedies.

Charming the Prince by Teresa Medeiros—I don’t often read historical romance but I read this book twice. It’s a humorous yet emotional read.
